Famous Celebrity Pets: Music Stars

Every pet believes they are a rock star within the fences of their own back yards. But these celebrity pets favored by music legends of the past and present made their impact on modern culture by leaving paw prints on the hearts of those responsible for shaping music history.

If you’re sure your pet is a diva or who knows they are worthy of some limelight, we’d love to meet them at LazyPaw Animal Hospitals. We believe every animal deserves some star treatment!

John Lennon: Cat Lover

John Lennon was an avid animal lover, as evidenced by his many, many cats: Elvis, Tich, Sam, Tim, Mimi, Babaghi, Jesus, Major, Minor, Alice, Salt, Misha, Sasha, and Charo. At one time, he and his wife, Cynthia, owned ten cats.

Biggest celebrity moment:

Lennon featured sketches of his favorite felines in his books “A Spaniard in the Works” and “Real Love: The Drawings for Sean.”

Taylor Swift & Meredith

Country celebrity Taylor Swift adopted her sweet Scottish Fold, Meredith, in 2011 and the two have been inseparable ever since. Named for the character Meredith Grey on Grey’s Anatomy, the storm-colored kitty has been constantly featured in Swift’s Twitter feed, Instagram photos, and online videos.

Biggest Star Moment:

Meredith may appear to be all fuzz and charm, but the frisky feline has a darker side. Before the 2014 Met Gala, the cat attacked Swift’s custom satin Oscar de la Renta gown. In the cat’s defense, the long train of the dress was so sparkly it might be easy for a celebrity animal to confuse with a top shelf toy…

Frank Sinatra

Legendary singer and tough guy Frank Sinatra had a softer side that was easily seen when he spent time with his dog, Ringo. The pup happily resided at Sinatra’s home in Palm Springs, California.

Biggest Celebrity Moment:

Ringo was alive in a time before mobile phones and Twitter feeds made everyone related to a celebrity famous. The pup’s only celebrity moments were recorded during a rare glimpse into Sinatra’s guarded private life when Life magazine was invited into the star’s home to snap some photos. However, many of those photos were not published in the 1965 cover story; it was only recently that Ringo’s sweet moments with The Voice were available to the public eye online.

Lady Gaga & Fozzi

Fans constantly “applaud” Lady Gaga’s sweet Poodle/Maltese mix, the apricot-colored Fozzi. The celebrity pup has been featured on tons of photos and short films on Instagram and Monstervision, Lady Gaga’s video blog. No stranger to the limelight, Fozzi keeps his cool whether he’s showing off for droves of fans, flocks of paparazzi, or people just looking to pose with his curly cuteness.

Biggest Star Moment:

Fozzi maintained his celebrity chill on Gaga’s Good Morning America appearance in his guest role as Dorothy’s Toto, both when his singer parent was cooing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and when the dancing portion complete with a flying monkey began. Kudos to Fozzie—I can’t say I would be able to do the same!
